Surgical Services

Our experienced veterinarians regularly perform a wide range of surgical procedures, including spay, neuter, cherry eye, mass removals, cat declawing, dental surgery, and more.

Ensuring Your Pet's Safety & Comfort

We are committed to providing a human level of surgical care to our pet patients. Our animal hospital is equipped with the latest in advanced veterinary diagnostic tools, enabling us to accurately diagnose and determine the best course of treatment for our patients. In addition, we have extensive safety protocols in place throughout every step of the surgical process. Some of these include:

  • Evaluating bloodwork within 60 days of the procedure to ensure there are no hidden problems involving your pet's blood counts or organ function.
  • Conducting a complete physical exam, during which individualized anesthesia, fluid therapy, and pain control plans are developed to address your pet's unique needs.
  • Dedicating a veterinary staff member to monitor your pet's anesthesia administration and well-being throughout the procedure, as well as during recovery.
  • Using a cardiac monitor to assess heart rate, rhythm and blood pressure along with a pulse oximeter that is used to evaluate blood oxygen levels.
  • Giving IV fluids to keep your pet hydrated and help maintain his or her blood pressure, while also providing quick access should emergency medications become necessary.
  • Providing warm water heating pads to maintain your pet's body temperature and prevent potential hypothermia from taking place due to anesthesia.

We will do everything we can to ensure that your pet is comfortable before, during, and after surgery. When your pet first awakens after the procedure, a veterinary staff will be by his or her side to provide reassurance and a calming presence.

When your pet is ready to go home, we will review your postoperative care and medication instructions. If any questions arise after your pet returns home or at any other time during the postoperative period, please call us.  We welcome your questions and will do all we can to help your pet recover fully. Nothing is more important to us than the health, happiness, and well-being of our pet patients.
